The program provides a therapeutic, substance free residential environment for men with serious mental illness and substance use issues. The program consists of a nine (9) bed facility. The program goals include increasing periods of sobriety and behavioral stability. The program assists participants in identifying addictive problems, learning adaptive coping and social skills, changing lifestyles, accessing community resources, establishing support networks and accomplishing individual service/treatment goals. Family is encouraged to participate. The program runs for 30 to 90 days unless otherwise specified.
There is continuous on-site or on-call availability of a behavioral health professional. The program consists of individual counseling, group education and therapy, aftercare, life skills training, job skills training, case management, and family groups as requested. Programming is scheduled throughout the day and evening hours. Family sessions are available upon request. The aftercare program includes referrals to community resources or peer support groups, held in the community or at the residential facility. It may also include a referral to an intensive outpatient treatment program.
The program goes well-beyond traditional service model programs and enhanced integrated care principles to incorporate a holistic recovery oriented program strategy. Treatment integration and principle enhancement has been essential in responding to the multiple needs of the dually diagnosed.
